Installing Theme

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 0 views

To install the Prague theme, first you need to install WordPress on your Web Hosting / Server. If you haven’t installed it yet, you can follow the installation documentation here.

Extract the downloaded theme package and you will see several folders. Inside them, you will find two theme zip files, the prague.zip which is the Main Parent Theme and prague-child.zip which is the Child Theme. Read more about why Child Theme is important here.

There are two ways of installing the theme.

  1. Native WordPress Uploader which is the easiest (We recommend this installation method)
  2. FTP / SFTP

Native WordPress Uploader (Recommended)

  1. Login to WordPress Admin Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme.
  3. Click on the Choose File button and select the prague.zip file first.
  4. Hit the Install Now button.
  5. Once the Parent Theme is installed successfully, go ahead and follow the same method to install the prague-child.zip and then activate it.

FTP Software

  1. Using the FTP softwares such as Filezilla or WinSCP, login to your WordPress website server.
  2. Navigate to the /wp-content/themes/ directory under your WordPress website’s root directory.
  3. Extract both the Prague parent and child theme zips on your desktop.
  4. Upload both the extracted Prague parent and child theme folders to your /wp-content/themes/ directory on the server.
  5. Login to WordPress admin and then activate the child theme.
